Job Title Senior Water Network Modeller / Team Leader
Location Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK

MWH currently have a position for a Senior Water Network Modeller/Team Leader to join their team in Wakefield.


Primary purpose of role;


Contribute to the growing UK market by providing technical expertise and team leadership in specialist network modelling. To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading edge programmes and projects.


Undertake the day to day leadership of a team of modellers and technicians to ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards to meet both client and MWH expectation.


To establish close client contacts and ensure a smooth flow of information between MWH, the client and other relevant third parties.


To undertake the required monitoring and reporting to track project progress and ensure delivery within timescales and budgets.


Job Description


  • Leading a team of modellers and technicians, you will be involved in a variety of schemes to improve and enhance Water Networks.
  • Undertake the preparation of cost estimates for modelling projects and contribute to submissions for larger programmes of work.
  • Conduct the planning of site surveys, field investigation, and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
  • Able to provide expert inputs to model calibration and to guide more junior modellers in all aspects of model build and maintenance.
  • Using appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful project outcomes for clients.
  • Generation and/or review of model reporting documentation.
  • Complete all work in line with MWH Core Values and in accordance with MWH Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

  • To be successful in this role you will need;


  • To be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject
  • A member of a relevant engineering institution i.e. ICE
  • An in depth knowledge of relevant UK hydraulic modelling packages, such as
  • Synergee, Infoworks, Epanet, Aquis or InfoWater.
  • Strong experience with water network hydraulic analysis modelling software, water demand analysis and water network planning studies
  • Significant experience in water industry including previous experience in modelling water networks and use of hydraulic modelling packages
  • Experience of leading a team of engineers/technicians delivering model build and or maintenance projects
  • To be computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office An ability and experience of leading a team and also to work independently
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Good client service focus
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task
