Primary purpose of role;


Contribute to the MWH business goals by providing technical solutions, advice. Support to Project Managers and Team Leaders by providing technical expertise to ensure that projects is delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards to meet both client and MWH expectation


Job Description


  • Experience in the water industry and in Structural design.
  • Manage site surveys, field investigations and feasibility studies for propsed projects.
  • Co-ordinate and produce reports on site findings for projects.
  • Produce calculations, specifications and drawings of site to ensure technical designs provide appropriate solutions.
  • Provide techical expertise in Structural design to meet project needs.
  • Prepare expressions of interest and proposals.
  • Maintain communication with key clients and develop ongoing contacts.
  • Organise tender documents and evaluate tenders and contracts.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff, including training within specific areas of responsibility and expertise as required.
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge of survey, design, drafting, project and contract management standards and techniques.
  • Liaise with clients and ensure that programmes and proects are managed effectively to ensure delivery in a manner which meets quality, time and budget specifications.
  • Undertake appropriate research of existing assets and investigation and design modifications / improvements.
  • Using appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful project outcomes for clients.
  • Complete all work in line with MWH Core Values and in accordance with MWH Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or other relevant subject.
  • A member (or working towards membership) of a relevant engineering institution i.e. IStructE.
  • Competent skill level in business development.
  • Ability to integrate into a team and provide technical management over other members of the treatment team.
  • Experience in the management of staff and staff development.
  • Experienced level of decision making.
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Good client service focus.
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task.
